Beef soup made from shank with bone marrow. Bulalo is considered as one of the favorite dishes in the Philippines. It is easy to make, yet takes time but worth the wait.


  • 2lbs beef shank
  • 1/2 cabbage
  • 1 bundle pechay
  • 4 corn
  • Whole pepper corn
  • 1/2 up green onions
  • 1 onion
  • 34oz water
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce (optional)
  • Knorr beef cubes (optional)


  1. In a big pot, boil water
  2. Put in beef shank, onion, pepper corn and simmer for 1.5hrs or until meat is tender.
  3. If you want more beef flavor, add knorr beef cube.
  4. Add corn and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Add cabbage, pechay, green onion
  6. Add fish sauce, if needed.
  7. Serve hot.
